Bender publications, a publishing house renowned for its excellent reference works for collectors on German WWII militaria publishes this magazine. It started out in the 1980s, and has predominantly focussed on German military collectibles. Every now and then, especially since the early-mid 1990's, it carries an article of interest to collectors of Soviet militaria. Pls note, this info is about two years old -- I stopped my subscription then because the magazine did not carry enough articles on Soviet militaria. It might carry more currently.

k3rvmfusa is right. Most of the few Sovie related articles recently have been an excellent series on Soviet state security badges by my friend Robert Pandis. But there is not much else Soviet related.

Anyway, I think a comprehensive thread on those "eggs" is needed in the forum.

I keep telling Robert about the site. But, his only real Soviet interest are the egg badges. Maybe he will join someday.

Its a great magazine, I have every issue. My father got it long before I was a collector. besides the article on the eggs of the NKVD there was a very early HSU article back in the early 1990's.

I wrote 3 articles for MA, all on wartime Soviet generals uniforms.

Roger Bender is a real nice guy and always wanted more Soviet articles, but had few willing authors. I can understand why. It took me a year to do each of the articles I did. They require alot of effort.
