Collecting rank boards ?
Hello All
I'm thinking of starting a collection of rank boards but have a few questions. What are the price ranges? I assume a set of WWII Marshal boards are more expensive then a set from a 80's Lt. Are there a lot fakes? Also any other advice or info you'll care to pass on would be appreciated. Thanks Roscoe |

Re: Collecting rank boards ?
Hi Roscoe,
Collecting boards is a lot of fun, but make sure you get a focus or it's endless...for example, Doc collects all ranks and eras, but only Medical service...it's a great way to specialize. They are easy to store, display well, and many can be had at a reasonable price. There are a HUGE number of fakes, some are just basic (see all the ebay "marshal" boards) and some are better; some are real to some and repro to others. After you have some originals you should be more comfortable. The older and higher the rank the more likely to look out for a fake. You can always post here, but you might get conflicting opinions! Good luck and keep us updated. DougD |
