Strange (?) hat badge

Hi,
I have bought a set of badges which included two hat badges for officer's daily service. One of them is a normal golden one, but the second one is silver and made out of thicker material. The rest is normal made.

I hope you could help me identifying this badge. :)

In the navy silver officer badges were for the technical personnel, but I guess You are talking about Ground Forcesbadges?

Not really sure what to think - I haven't heard of silver badgse in the soviet GF, altough e.g. silver shoulderboards existed. It is, however, possible that the gold paint just worn off. It looks like aluminium.

These late-type hat badges, made of aluminum, were anodized. This process could result in a wide range of shades, from rich deep gold to almost white as is the case here. For comparison purposes, look at the 25 year of Victory badge, you'll see what I mean.

Would that one fit good to 1989 female officer's berret? or shall I take the more golden one.
