New Coat!

Great coat! :D
Oh Im so excited.
It even comes with a hat! I picked it off E for only 10 dollars(plus shipping of 20) but still, I am so friggin giddy.
It was too good a deal to pass up, Im surprised I even won the bidding on it, I guess I got lucky! :)
So what do you guys think of it?
What do you guys think of the cap?

Lonny.

Re: New Coat!

it is indeed a very nice uniform and cap.

the cap looks like it was never used.

the coat is the type thats was worn for winter service and parade.
it was always worn with the fur gray hat.

Re: New Coat!

They should be?
Hmm, that can be fixed...
Say, how would I get the shoulder boards off if I wanted to?

i wouldnt do it if i were you, but it´s easy. you just cut the stitches and then remove the remaining thread. sewing them on again is rather hard though.

Re: New Coat!

Nice set! EC is correct though, the stars are for a senior officer but the boards are for a jr. officer...i am sure on E you can find the smaller jr officer boards...also, leave the boards...once you remove them you can never get them back on in 'original' form. its a good set at a great price!

how did you ever sew down the ones on the coat i sold you?

and yes it is quite difficult to sew down the shoulder boards. if you want to replace the stars make sure you have a good tailor lined up before hand!

i used the same holes of the stitches used to attach the obverse pattern to the cardboard epaulet body. the holes were not that small, so the needle entered easily.
