Group in need of saving!
Sadly, an ebay seller has decided to split a lovely 1952 catch-up Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class from its document and two original boxes. It's a nice group in need of saving. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to do the job. If anyone is interested, the item numbers are:
330766424813 330766808001 I hope the set stays together. |

Re: Group in need of saving!
I reguarly send ebay sellers emails telling them its disgracefull when they rip groups apart. Needless to say I get some rude replies . But I also get a few that apologise and withdraw items when its explained how its devaluing the item both financially and historically (and morally in my opinion)

For base, financial reasons no one is going to pay $50 for a decoration's box and its booklet .

I wish I had seen this group in time... It's a terrific posthumous award group...

Going to add another to the list (could get long very quickly):
On our favorite auction site, an Armenian father-son group. ORBL and Valiant Labor Medal to the father, BoH and Valiant Labor Medal to the son. Not often you see the complete family set. Being sold in 4 different lots |

Re: Group in need of saving!
Don't see this as an exception - see this as the rule.
I saw a large Railway group split into individual lots and sold off. Unpleasant to see but a normal occurrence. Do not think for one moment that it is just Soviet items that get sold in smaller or individual lots to raise more cash because it certainly is not. If every time a group was split and we shouted help! about it on the forum I think we would soon find that we were completely inundated with notifications. As disappointing as seeing a group split for profit is, it is countered by the joy of seeing a group reunited for history. Hopefully this forum can help toward the latter and not the former.
