Marshal Kazakov on E

There is a parade (?) tunic for "Marshal of Artillery Kazakov" on E. I'd like to look it over, but I have some major concerns if I were considering buying it.

In general branch marshals are the most difficult to verify as original; it is pretty easy to take a one star generals tunic and remove the boards and add branch marshals boards; no need for new embroidery. Judging by the numbers we see on E, there must have been about 40 Senior Marshals of the Red Air Force!

So, keeping that in mind, here are my concerns:

1. The tunic is full parade, shows heavy wear of medals / orders and yet has ribbons on it. The ribbons are backed in black, the color usually used when ribbons are made up in Russia today (they can be made to order).

2. Note the points on the boards (4) were they are 'tagged' down; I'd like to see the liner where the boards go to see if you can find evidence of removed boards.

3. the seller, not a regular russian dealer, claims he got it from the family but has no more details. His other listings are also all named, often with the same "from the family" line; thats an amazing set of contacts to have around the world.

I'd like to hear if there are any other points people pick up.

The HSU tends to be too high mounted (or so it looks - might be the ribbon bar position and angle that fools the eye), and the ribbon bar seem to have been attached by someone who was severly drunk.

The auction includes a reference to a certain major seller of russian collect-ibles; but the item there does not connect to the uniform itself, just to the marshal name.

The auction is no use to bid on for the vague Kazakov connection; depending on the end price there might be a chance to get a uniform set that could be restored for display.

Finally - the way the uniform is set to the figure in the picture makes me sick. If you are to sell something, make sure it looks good in the photos. That is plain sloppy.

Agreed

A made up tunic. Ribbons and order holes does not go on the same tunic exept hero star or possibly lenin 100 years medal. Black material as backing is stupid due to that the marshals tailor has access to th eright tsarist green backing cloth with would look much nicer. The boards are badly sewn which I don´t think a marshal would tolerate. In conclusion an made up tunic that I wouldn´t waste my money on.
best

branch marshals

Thanks guys, I thought you might see it that way.

Here is one of the many "Senior Air Marshals" that show up on E; older (nicer!) parade tunic, with the modern made boards thrown on.
