1975 cap combi
just a small question,
could a cap made in 1979 have a general inside with adjusteble cord. but only have the oval general cocarde ? and still be a real general cap. it apears to be a normal tank service cap (black velvet band and red pimping) or what the heck is it ? kind regards ser-g Last edited by Ser-g; 01-21-2008 at 09:58 AM. ok, so I know what you are saying, and I am not making fun of your typing, but it just struck me funny the "red pimping".
Sounds like a good idea for the Russian version of MTV. "Pimp my military hat!" Oh, and by the way, are we all being "punked" by Putin in regards to the election?

cap
Ser-g,
Anyway you can post a photo? It would be of great help to other members who would like to give their input on the cap. DougD Moderator |

ya pimping is what i always say it just sounds too funny.
now back to toppic i got some pic's the cap is not yet mine, and these are the best i could get for you. it is in basic just like an Tank/Artillery General Service 1955-1969. the only differance is that this cap is made in 1979. and to my knowlege caps of this age need to have embroidered gilt wire leaves to be real general type. kind regards ser-g |

cap
no, the embroidery on the service caps was later from what i remember, so that's not a major issue...looks like an ok cap except it looks like they may have used officer cap cords and buttons...tough to tell from these photos.

Ser-g,
It could be a private order from a high ranking officer such as a colonel. There are other examples of that happening. Marc |
