Summer Militia Visor?
Hi guys.
I got a couple questions about a hat I just bought. It is a soviet militia officer summer visor cap, I've never had one like this before, does the white cover come off like I've heard? And if so, is it grey underneath? And does the modern Russian Federation have any equal? Thanks, Lonny. |

Re: Summer Militia Visor?
And here we have the militia cap I purchased from the usual dealer in Ukraine.
And also a Russian Federation Officers cap from the same seller which appears to be air force. :) Sorry for the bad photos, it was taken with my cell phone. What do you guys think? :D |

Mmkay gents.
I am looking on E for more militia stuff and I came across a generals visor. Now it is 300 bucks and coming from Russia. Here are some pics, you guys think its safe? And is the price too steep? Lonny. |

Re: Summer Militia Visor?
i think this is the same seller that once ripped me off.
i had to pay a very big posting cost, witch was fast but i didn't want it. he made me go for the most expensive one. further more the cap i got was nothing like the pictures he showed me on his Ebay transaction. it was a cheap fake i got from him. he wanned me to pay true bank wire so i had no protection. it was my first time and last time i got burned. His name i will not put up here as for the forum rules. if you want to check it for sure PM me. Kind regards Ser-g http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...lp-me-out.html |

As for the white cap, is that white part a slip cover or what? Thanks. Lonny. |

Re: Summer Militia Visor?
the militia summer cap i have is a 2 part construction.
it is a body of band visor and top with a iron circle in it. the top is made of very wide woven coton and has the diamond on the inside to it. the cover (white) has a iron ring of its own and is only atached to the cap by friction and clamping of the 2 iron bands together with the top clamped between and the cover on the out side. the white cover was washable and could be bought separately , i have heard a summer cap was delivered with 2 covers but can not confirm it. it is not a winter militia cap with a simple white cover like was done in the 50's. |

Re: Summer Militia Visor?
I'd be careful. The chinstrap is wrong, it is officers type - for parade cap it should be a embroidered chinstrap.

Re: Summer Militia Visor?
Oh my god, the chinstrap!
And thank you for the info on the summer cap Serge! :D I had not even noticed the chin strap, I assumed all militia caps had the regular old officers cord. I guess not! Thanks again guys, Lonny. |
