In a Communist Bulgaria long long ago there were only two Medals - "For Participation In The September Uprising 1923" and "For Participation In The Patriotic War 1944-5". Nearly all other Meritorious acts were covered by specific Badges.

Nanov's Brigade book shows that he was 25 when awarded these two badges. It fills it lots of blanks that remain blank with many other groups.
