Railway visor cap - worker's fantasy or regulation?

Bought this one recently, and there are traces that make me sure it actually WAS worn with this emblem for a prolonged period. However, the cap doesn't look regulation at all. No buttons and chinstrap, a cloth-covered visor (spade-shaped, but almost as small as in imperial caps).

The material looks similar to the one used on Soviert foresters' uniforms, the emblem is attached wit flat "wires".
The "piping"at the crown is the same color as the rest of the cap.

Is this a private purchase civilian capm that was worn as service cap or is it some sort of an older, but regulation cap?

I don't think so. Miners used crossed hammers as their symbol. Of course, there is Gorgostekhnadzor, who, I think, had similar symbol, but to me the hammer and wrench indicates railway.

It would go well with that belt buckle that was discussed recently. Old and weird. :)

How about this one,

I have never seen such a cap before, the crown color strikes me as just weird.

(srry for abusing this older thread)

I can't give an opinion on this particular cap, but the golden yellow tops were worn by the individual in command of signals at a railway station. In another thread Doug D. posted a photo of a beautiful older example from the 1950's.

I don't have the reference in front of me, but I believe that a Railway Station Commander wore the red top. however, the individual at the station who was in charge of signals wore a golden yellow top.
