Re: Guards Badges
Additionally, a Guards Badges being produced by a Narkomat (People's Commissariat), usually the People's Commissariat Of Lines Of Communication, does not mean a GPW produced Badge but a pre March 1946 produced one. It may have been issued some time after that date too.

I know this is going WAY back but I think this is wartime and that the screw is a reproduction of the type we see on the repro 'excellent' badges? Quote:
It didn't bring the picture, I do think the screw is a repro. I know there are period examples of this style and factory. |

I purchased the small book on guards badges but I find it tough to use and the pictures not the greatest, if I post good pictures can I get some assistance in typing them with the text? Maybe I'll get better at using it.
What makes you so sure? THe more I look at this one the more I"m unsure. It doesn't have the same number of marks around the rim as the common fake I see on the excellent badges. THere are lines on the rim that look like casting lines, but I've got a DIFFERENT version of this makers nut with the same line on the edge that is a well worn example that I"m 99% sure is legit. I"m calling myself out here.....I'm no longer sure (the known fake has 48 very thin ticks around the edge by the way ). Here is one that has the right look and feel upclose, but it too has a funny line on the edge on a small part, so how did you determine this one is 'fake'? Re: Guards Badges
Post both photos next to each other and if it isn't evident then, I will.

Re: Guards Badges
Thoughts on this nut? Looks period but maybe from a different award?
Supposedly okay for Hayrapetyan 5.1 or 5.2? Last edited by meyerse; 09-30-2016 at 08:42 PM. |

Re: Guards Badges
These nuts were used on c1940-1943 Badges. Mongolian awards are the most usual place to see them pop up as the State Mint or State Light Industry Peoples Commissariats made a large share of the Soviet ones.

Re: Guards Badges
It could be the correct nut for a Московское товарищество художников production Badge. It is not the same MTX nut that is seen on the Halhingol Badge but it is the same as seen on the Chojbalsan Shooter Badge.
There is a lot of misinformation about the MTX out there. Mainly that is ceased production in 1924 but it was active until at least 1950. Most of it's output (that is marked with its name) can be found in the awards of Mongolia.
