Re: Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
I think now would be a good time to bring in the "no dismembered recipients" rule. These men, women and children performed feats that many of us could never envision let alone perform. Desecrating them into bodies to display shiny pieces of metal is extremely disrespectful not only to the recipient but all of those who have been awarded for their services.
This is after all "Photographs Of Recipients" not "affixed mounted awards". Also having a full identification of the person in question and a biography/citation is always extremely helpful and respectful too. Lest We Forget.

Re: Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
Hi guys! Long time no see. :)
Any idea what foreign award Guards Major Rybkin is wearing there, underneath his campaign medals group? Originally I thought it was a Mongolian or DPRK order, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks, George |

Re: Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
As we are looking post '48 and I've seen the likes before, I know we are looking at a local government issued Chinese "Badge" for air defence preparation during Korea. http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...nce-order.html

Re: Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
Great catch, thanks! Not a lot of info on this badge, but supposedly it was established in 1950 and given to Soviet advisors during the Korean War. But why Shanghai Air Defense? Preparations in case the conflict spread?

If McArthur had his way 12 atomic bombs from the sky at least. Preparation was needed.

Triple Pontooneer
Gents,
There was a period after the GPW when a soldier could be awarded (and wear) more than one of the same Otlichnik qualification badge. This unidentified cadet is an example with his three Excellent Pontooneer badges. Regards, slava1stclass |

Re: Photographs Of Recipients Of Soviet Awards/Service Personnel.
Here is picture of a pair of flyboys in Morshansk on 27th September 1941.
To sister Rajsa from brother Evgenij Has'janov. Research seems to be a bit of a blank although there was a 1916 born E. G. Has'janov killed on 20th November 1942.
