Red Star,1780094,Head Of Staff,15th Cavalry Regiment,6th Mongolian Cavalry Division
According to the Strekalov's book, as of January 1, 1971 there were only 116 Red Star awardings to Mongolians. I am hoping to get a complete list of the names and serial numbers :)
Awarded to Captain Chimidarabdan Samdan, Chief of Staff, 15th Cavalry Regiment, 6th Mongolian Cavalry Division. During the 5th Cavalry Division operation to cross the "Chaokhe" river (obviously, the name is incorrect, so more research is needed) he displayed exemplary courage and self sacrifice saving two drowning Tsiriks (Mongolian privates). As a Chief of Staff he contributes significantly to the success of the combat missions. Edict from July 7, 1946. |
