Gramotas.

This is the first of several KGB-related award documents ("gramotas" and "diplom"). These are from the main branch of the KGB as far as I can tell as opposed to their Border Guard counterparts ( http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...-gramotas.html).

This first one may help sort out the enigmatic table medal I recently acquired that was a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Union in the GPW and has a standard KGB sword and shield emblem on one of the sides.

The "Gramota" is for a KGB lieutenant-engineer on the 30th anniversary of the victory in 1975. Just in case anyone would like to know what is written, the text is roughly as follows:

Anniversary Diploma
Lieutenant-engineer Yuri Fyodorovich Ilyushin.

For the successes achieved in the work, impeccable service in the KGB of the USSR Council of Ministers and the 30th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, you are rewarded with [this] diploma.

We express confidence that you will continue to serve as an example of the faithful execution of one's patriotic duty to our great Motherland - the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The first is of the Order pictured on the cover (the only thing there), the second is the inner left side and finally, the inner right.
