Swiss Proclamation Of Recidency January 1945.

Here is an extremely rare, possibly unique survivor of the "transitional" period in Bulgarian history. This large (larger than A3) "poster" is #9 of an unknown amount of Swiss Embassy created proclamations. The poster announces "The resident of this apartment is a Swiss Citizen and is under the protection of the Swiss Embassy in Sofia". This dates from nearly 3 months after the switch in Bulgaria's alliance from Axis to Allies and it seems the situation deemed it necessary to make public knowledge that Swiss citizens were Swiss and not German. Due to the international situations at the time it is most likely that Switzerland had only a few diplomatic representatives in the country, so these were very obscure sites.
