Stefan Lisiecki
I have doubts wether to put this group here or in the papers section, as the awards are not present, but it is mostly award related, so let it be here.
I have come across this group on a flea market. the seller wanted an amount of money that I couldn't afford at that time, but I he agreed to keep this group for me if I contact him within 2 weeks. Apparently he had changed his mind, because when I contacted him, he said that he got a good offer on some of the medals and docs, but there's still a lot of stuff. I was furious, but decided to see what was left. I cannot imagine what has happened - the guy that bought only selected papers and all the awards must have paid for them morethan the seller wanted for the whole group. Anyway, that person bought all the awards, one photograph and most of the award documents (among them - a Cross of the Brave with the rare temporary certificate and Czechoslovak WW2 Valour Cross). I have, however found the remaining papers interestingenough to keep buy them anyway. So, here's the basic info on the man Stefan Lisiecki, born in 1911 in Germany was in the officer candidate school before the war. In 1944 he had joined the 10th Infantry Division of the 2nd Army of the Polish Troops (in the East), most likely - 13th Independent Car Artillery Division (later renamed 13th Independent Anti-Armor Artillery Division). He later bacame a commander of that unit. For his frontline activity he was awarded the Cross of the Brave. Later he probably served in the interior security troops (KBW) for some time, or his unit was simply used for anti-UPA actions. The highest military rank he held was probably captain. The papers here were bound in a folder by the vet himself. So, here we start: Participation in the fights of Berlin medal doc, Reserve officer ID, Some sort of temporary ID from 1944, and 2 fotos - can't recognize him on the first one, but on thesecond one he is the soldier in the back (the one with an award on his chest). Service information from his ID: Reserve Artillery Officer Candidate School - 1year 2 months before 1939 Platoon commander 1year Battery comander 1 year 3mnths Division commander 1 year 10mnths 3 control gatherings of the reserve in 1954.
