I recently bought some very nice state security IDs from the family of the recipient here in Tbilisi. He was a General-Major and a household name here, and a greatly feared man. These came from his grandson and his family. All from the same guy:

1. Order book: Very ordinary 1949 book with only ORB and OPW-1. One of his ID photos shows three Red Stars, two ORBs, the OPW-1, the MVD badge, one badge that may be the Honored Railwayman badge, and what looks like the V-Germany and maybe the Defense of the Caucasus.

2. 1943 Gramota for the Honored NKVD badge. This is a nice small leather photo ID with the badge embossed on the cover. No badge, unfortunately.

3. This one is strange and interesting -- A 1947 fine leather ID as the owner-recipient of a German Horst automobile presented as a war trophy pursuant to MVD order (if I'm reading it right) #9036. Nice trophy. Can't be too many of these around. I'd like to have the Horst, though.

4. Leather MVD photo ID

5. Leather MGB photo ID as chief of Georgian military counter-intelligence.

6. An extra picture.

Unfortunately, his orders and medals were sold long ago. The family thinks they may have "a few old MVD badges" but they can't find them. I'm still hoping. If anyone is still interested by then, I can post images once I finally get back home, but that will be a while.
