Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

In the battle for the height 130 to the north-west of the village Schergalesh 8-9.12.1944, Medic Otyan Grigory Stepanovich distinguished himself as a brave and resourceful qualified medic, at all time he provided qualified first aid to the wounded officers and soldiers.

Under strong artillery and gunfire from the enemy, he himself brought in 21 wounded officers and soldiers, with their weapons, from the battlefield, to the battalion aid station.

Wounded were his constant concern during the difficult moments of the battle. When the enemy counter-attacked, Comrade Otyan was with the wounded at all time. He carried them to safe places, protecting them from secondary injuries.

During the execution of duty, Otyan got a contusion of medium heaviness, and in this case, did not leave the battlefield until all the wounded were evacuated from the battlefield. When sanitary platoon commander, Comrade Ilyin left the battlefield, medic Otyan took over the evacuation of the wounded. Currently Otyan is at a sanitary company of the regiment, to get treated for his contusion.

Deserves a government award Order of Red Star.
