Return Of Sudoplatov's Awards

Here's interesting document to Moscow Major Luzhkov dated 1998: decision to return Soviet state awards to A.P.Sudoplatov.

Lietenant-General Sudoplatov was one of the KGB bosses in charge of intelligence operations during Stalin era. After Stalin's death he was sentenced in 1958 to 15 years in Soviet prisons.

Here's the list of Lietenant-General Sudoplatov's awards:

Orders:
Lenin - #59,241,
3 Red Banners - #1,278 (note low number!), #301 - 2nd award, # 1,363 - 3rd award,
Suvorov 2nd class - #1,233,
GPW 1st cl - #131,901,
2 Red Stars - #9,863 and # 271,756,

Medals:
Partizan 1st cl,
Defense of Moscow,
Defense of Caucasus,
Victory over Germany,
30 yrs Soviet Army,
800 Yrs Moscow,

Total - 8 orders, 6 medals, 9 award books.

All awards were returned to Sudoplatov's son. I am curios where did Soviet government stored the award for 40 years - did they have a designated box with Sudoplatov's name in storage?

It's also amazing that awards were not stolen from the storage - a lot of the awards did find their way to the collectors market. Imagine how much a group like this would cost if it would be for sale!!!!
