Hi Willie,
general boards are still sewn together because they´re unissued. That´s why they´re upside down; don´t want to cut the thread since it would lose that special "unissued and mint" scent... the colonel boards´ backing is blue, but the camera flash made them look dark gray. That´s the blue I´m talking about. Esteban

A very '60s/'70s major general
Just in, his tunic (with nice ribbon bar) and greatcoat (which I'll post when I can figure out how to do so (weighs a TON, but UB winters demand such).

The greatcoat. (Ignore the pants, they're Afghan.) And detail shot. I think this is a 'recycled' greatcoat from earlier, as the two top buttons on each side have been removed. We need to know SO much more.

Hello and welcome!
Thank you for the information. The person who sold this badge to me didn`t knew neither. Perhaps you could also tell us about the blue backing on the colonel`s shoulderboards. Esteban

I don't see any blue backing shoulderboards. It must be dark green. Above picture is armed forces colonel's. I'm pretty sure of this. Board guarding forces uniforms and other accesories completely same as armed forces but shoulder patch, served year patch is bright green.

So does Mongolia have a Navy? Being landlocked doesn't always mean that this is true.
Yes, it does! or did! Mongolia's Navy, consisted of 1 ship only, name: Suhkbaatar. Also the only ship in Lake Hovsgol.

Still, there's no Mongolian navy.
