Soviet poster art is legendary in the graphic design world. You can tell the best designs function without the viewer needing to understand the language.

Yep, good stuff. I have several DVDs full of them - all kinds; military, labor, KGB/security, war propaganda (lots of war propaganda).

When I first got back from Russia, I was hired by an elderly gent who had bought about 100 original Soviet posters and wanted them translated - why? I never knew because he never wanted to do anything with them. In fact, I really wish I knew what happened to that collection.
