These are a couple of my excellent badges, the sub was the only one I have seen so far, the snipers are not so hard to find, one of mine has a silver finish..any ideas why.

sorry one of my last badges was a best rifleman..here is my other sniper and one of my fav's a best recce man

Good to hear from you again. Your Submariner is a post-war issue, but even they are quite rare.

Your Sniper is actually nickel-plated. I can't explain why, but I guess they were made at some front-line shop, that used whaever materials were available. I have also seen nickel-plated Tanker, Machine-Gunner, and some others. They are very popular between collectors.

Thanks for posting them. They are actually yet another variation with just the shield border nickel-plated. Quite interesting. I have even seen an Artillery badge with enameled shield border.

Here it is. I think this is the most unusual one I have ever seen, probabaly made at some small front-line shopt. Notice how huge the hammer and sickle is.

I did not realise that they knocked them up at the front.

Maybe it explains this one I have......

It is three piece....?
and the back you can see the parts attached by rivets and may be repaired
