Paul G., that looks to be a great web site. Thanks!
Actually wasn't a joke earlier - it would be great to read a translation of the old butcher's citations. The bureaucracy being what it was one would think that they’d have been written. After all, no one was a Tsar, no one could officially just grant themselves things. The right forms must be filled out, signed and stamped. “I’ll be home a bit late tonight dear.” “Why, what are you working on?” “Writing the citation for the Leader’s latest award. For some reason I get the feeling I’d better make it just right…” :D

Re: Stalin's awards
This is part of a list of Stalin's possessions at the time of his death. Listed is "Order of the Red Banner, old model, #400."
Where did that come from? Alex |

Re: Stalin's awards
Order of Combat Red banner has an interesting history. Some researches say that Stalin's first ORB had been changed to number 3 (duplicate) :) .

Re: Stalin's awards
Very nice way to show it, thanks! :thumbsup
BTW I wonder why he only got the XX RKKA medal and not the 30th anniv. one too.

Stalin was awarded rare republican orders: Tuva Order of Republic and Buhara Order of Red Star 1st Class. Scans of both orders are attached for your viewing pleasure. |
