Research a soldier
Is it possible to research the whereabouts of a soldier from the last name and soldier number?

Re: Research a soldier
I guess in most cases it will be something like "Ended military service 1981-07-31" "No awards" ... the guy who owned my tunic is probably about 50 years old now (tunic from 1979). But it could be a hero as well.

Re: Research a soldier
I don't think the number is of any use to the researchers, and only a last name will yield too much results... Especially a common name as yours...

Re: Research a soldier
I believe only officers and awarded enlisted men can be researched, in TSAMO at least. Maybe there's another way.
TSAMO 2nd Department: Award Citations TSAMO 5th Department: Personal Files of Officers TSAMO 6th Department: Personal Files of Political Staff TSAMO 9th Department: Roster of enlisted men and sergeant losses; roster of POWs later liberated TSAMO 11th Department: Roster of officer losses; roster of officer POWs perished in captivity; roster of awards to all troops (including non-officers) Sounds like a fun project, good luck! :thumbsup George |

Re: Research a soldier
Hmm, what about senior enlisted personnel? I just picked up this uniform and am wondering if he was in Afghanistan. Jacket is either dated as having been made in 1976 or 1987 (not sure where marking is the correct marking).
