Afghanistan Freedom Medal

I assume this is the one in question.
Not on a pentagonal suspension in this case.
Apparently the medal was created by Presidential decree in 2006 by the Afghanistan government. The medal was to be issued to the troops from all countries, and not just the US, for the support of Afghan freedom. While 40 medals were issued, the project was stopped.

According to what Pres. Karzai told me, it was never issued at all. But maybe others know better.

Yes, among many things. He promised I'd get some medal for my service there, but so far nothing. I'd better hurry.

I've got one of these knocking about the collection. Still in its box, sealed. Very much "American".

I have never seen any sort of document blank, completed, fake or imaginary, relating to this particular Medal.
