Re: Authentic KGB cap?
I will pick up this thread to present to You the "winter" brother of the white top cap shown in the first post of this thread. I picked up this cap from a guy who clearly did not know what he was selling - but on the other hand - the buyer (me) does not 100% know what he is buying either. Hence the question to come.
This cap has the traditional KGB royal blue color combined with the traditional Militia gray top. The side buttons are '91' and it is made by PTO Tsarnitsa. Size 56, shows wear on the inside. Any ideas by now, almost two years later to what this is? Last edited by Tretov; 03-26-2013 at 09:46 AM. |

Re: Authentic KGB cap?
I personnaly am no more wiser in this area than I was before - the cap is supposed to be late USSR cap for the investigative branch of the Militia - this is the most reasonable explaination I ever came across, but having seen no source that would confirm that, I still say it is only a good theory.

Re: Authentic KGB cap?
Here's another ePay item I'm dubious about today. It is supposed to be a KGB officer parade cap.
Things seem to be in the right places and all of that, but with cloth items - especially expensive ones, I always defer to the more knowledgeable/experienced folks here (either directly or indirectly). If you are "in the wings" and have an opinion, please email or PM me. Thanks for any help. I learn best through other people. Phillip

Re: Authentic KGB cap?
And the inside...
I do not recognize this manufacturer comparing it to other known authentic sweat diamond maker marks.

Re: Authentic KGB cap?
It looks OK. Those caps are not THAT ucommon and to my knowledge m69KGB officer caps are not being faked. The factory is Zarnitsa in Moscow, it's one of the many variants of their label.
