Re: who know this?
Simon, there is no doubt that the two you posted are exquisite badges (especially the 1929). I suppose that is a mini-ORB (RSFSR) at the top. They are both very well crafted and probably were designed by the same person(s) and minted in similar or the same mint(s).
As for the Wrangle badge (round), I'm not terribly impressed...:( Until I saw the last picture I was not going to fully believe the same government that approved the Lenin and Red Banner orders also allowed this bizarre creation out - even if just for a small number of people. I appreciate that there was not much time to create, draft and approve a final design, but really... There is too much going on and the image is convoluted rather than suggestive, to my eye. I don't wish to offend anyone who may like this piece; it simply is not my cup o' tea.:) Phillip

Re: who know this?
Hi Phillip,
No offense taken or intended - we all have our own feelings about these things. As the saying goes "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I guess what we are both saying is that many Soviet awards/medals/badges/etc were beautifully designed and exquisitely crafted but, to us, this isn't one of them. Simon |

Re: Badge "For The Expedition To Wrangel".
It may have taken me a long time to get round to this but you certainly won't find any information on this award on Goole.com.
But strangely enough I can see Goole through my window... On these Badges, They seem to be more prevalent (i.e. Faked) especially in China. When dealing with these you would need exceptional providence and not just a tale from some faceless online dealer.
