453 Ryminskii Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Rifle Regiment, 78 Zaporozhe Red Banner Order of Surovov Rifle Division Order 013/N dated 24 April 1945

On behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, I award the Bravery Medal to:

18. 2 Rifle Company Squad Leader Master Sergeant Grigorii Ivanovich Shkolin, who in combat
on 3.04.1945 for the settlement of Lenti-Kapolynya capably commanded his squad. His combat
missions have been executed boldly and accurately. His squad unexpectedly encountered the
enemy and was subjected to a firestorm of enemy machinegun fire. Without wavering Comrade
Shkolin gave to the command to hit the dirt and with frequent rushes closed the distance on the
enemy, boldly fighting with his squad and thus was among the first to enter the settlement. He
capably accomplished his mission and personally killed five German soldiers.

b. 1906, Party member since 1943, Russian, inducted into the Red Army by the Samarkand Municipal Military Commissariat (Samarkand Oblast). Home address: Altai Krai, Slavgorodskii Region, village of Arkhangelskoe.
