Here is an exceptionally rare document to Hero Of Socialist Labour Nikifor Iliev Dimitrov.

Awarded by the Central Committee Of The Trade Union Of Miners, Metallurgists, Energy Workers And Geologists on 17th May 1979 and stating that the recipient's name has been placed in the "Book Of Labour Glory". The highest honour of the Trade Union.

As many will now know Bulgarian awards are now researchable so here is more information on Nikifor Iliev Dimitrov.

Born 6th July 1922 in the village of Mala Fucha, Kjust Okrut."Meritorious Minor". Member BCP since 1954. Coming from a poor peasant family. Orphaned at the age of 12 and to earn a living became an agricultural labourer, from the age of 17 years old joined the mine "Pirin". Participant in both phases of the Patriotic War (1944-1945) as a signalman and reached the front in Hungary and Austria. After victory returned to the mining profession, elected as head of the brigade in the mine "Bobov Dol". His Brigade specialised in the most labour intensive work below ground, working in emergency situations, where the face had failed and had to be restored to normal production of coal. The Brigade of N. Iliev (Dimitrov) participate in the rescue operations of extracting trapped miners. For active production, public-political activity and for devotion over 30 years of work underground with Ukaz #1380 of 26th August 1970 N. Iliev was awarded with the Title "Hero Of Socialist Labour". Elected as a delegate of X congress of the BCP (1971). Now a pensioner. Holder of the Order "Red Banner Of Labour" (1964) and Title "Meritorious Minor" (1967).
