1929 Transcaucasian Communist University Named "26" Identification.

Here is a 1929 Transcaucasian Communist University Named "26" (Commissars) Identification to Galaktion Petrovich Chanturija/Galakten Petres-dze Chant'uria for the four year course of the All Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Of The Transcaucasian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

Reunited with his 20th May 1946 awarded Medal "For Victory Over Germany In The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", which may be his only award. It seems to be awarded by the Adzar ASSR (or at least a Georgian Region).

Actually it sais "Kommunarov" - that would be Communards. However, I can't quiute identify who this 26 were.

This 26 (Коммунаров/Комиссаров - Kommunarov was used more then and Komissarov more recently and it only gets more confusing with 3 languages involved) was founded in Tbilisi in November 1923 named after the Baku 26th Commissars and became the Tbilisi Higher Party School in 1931. Its purpose was to train specifically in the economic management of the Transcaucasian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. I'm not certain as to what the establishment evolved into (if it is around today as a teaching institute) but I believe it was on Rustaveli Prospect. It may be the same building as the Georgian National Academy Of Sciences (Which was created in February 1941).

I suppose in the end the institute emulated the 26th in failing to stick around.
