Military Exploit Order.
Here's the Military Exploit Order 3rd class. The order was established in 1947. (The number of stars on the ribbon indicates class: 3 stars for 1st class, 2 stars for 2nd class, and 1 star for 3rd class.)
The order is nice looking from a distance, but is made really cheaply: stamped out of a thin sheet of metal, seemingly aluminum, and then painted. (note the paint flaking off the centre medallion).

Interesting point. I imagine the "cheapness" of the North Vietnamese awards stems from the fact that they had higher priority things to do with their limited supply of precious metals as well as their steel, brass and bronze: use these to buy or manufacture weapons. Just speculation on my part though.

Re: Vietnam Military Exploit Order
Hello all - I have revived this thread to ask what how a person would earn this medal. I am even asking how foreigners received this award? Thanks.

Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Military Exploit Order
Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Military Exploit Order
Hi All, I am adding SRV pages to my website, and I had some questions from the SRV collectors out there : 1. Does anyone have any other variations? 2. The 1959 US Army publication shows without wreath. Anyone ever seen other evidence of this for an early type ? (that is not just one with a removed/lost wreath) 3. Does anyone have any more pictures of the early DRV type ? 4. Does anyone have additional references for this order ? The draft page is here: http://www.indochinamedals.com/srv/o...oit_order.html Rgds Dave
