Hello dear collectors,
I visited the link above which shows photos of 5 types of Soviet officers daggers. I admit that I know nothing about daggers, but I am interested to buy one to enhance the look of my collection and by curiosity. I also consulted some other threads about soviet officers daggers. As I understand, the air force and army daggers are a bit rarer than the Navy daggers since Navy used them until the break-up of USSR while army daggers seems to have stopped around 1957 to be issued. But which ones are the most collectibles? Are there differences in construction, in quality? Or it's just the depiction on the scabbard that is different? I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to PM me some reputable contact where I could buy one. Unfortunately, my "favorite" seller has no in stock for a while. Or is it a safe thing to buy on E! or even in Ukraine (is it complicate to cross custom with this kind of sword in luggages?). Thanks in advance for the information and please don't hesitate to post any comments or share your opinion about your own daggers if you have. Because actually, I am wondering if many "awards collectors" also like to collect daggers, or it's mostly "uniforms collectors" only that are interested in daggers. I guess, at some point when we see that missing awards are too expensive, we look beside to see what else we can buy to continue to expand the collection! |
