Kirchgoens,
What are you rambling about here? You can research anything you want, these 3 medals don't belong together, period. Research will only prove that afterward. As Paul mentioned, the last 2 stamps are bad. No ifs, buts or anything else about that. Now, of course, you are allowed to believe that you have found an extremely rare and unusual variation, while the rest of us dies laughing :D Marc |

Ouch, no mercy for the new guy...
You guys are brutal and unmerciful to a guy who has so much to learn, especially one who thinks out loud. Makes a dude want to go hide in the basement and stop posting on the forum! :( I may just lay low for a while while I lick my wounds from a severe keyboard beating from the older crowd.
Just a suggestion to the guys who have been at this a while: please consider the mentoring approach with us as we learn. Tell us where we are going wrong (with a bit of encouragement) so we can learn, because strong mocking, even with a smile, can hurt... ;) Norm, I feel your pain of last week... :( |

No beating intended here. Sorry if you took it any differently. I totally agree with you on the mentoring approach, this is the one way that really helps progress; you can't reinvent the wheel every time around. Now to get back to this thread, Paul indicated as a reason, in plain terms, that the 2nd and 3rd stamps are BAD; they were added afterwards to "make" a larger group. Have a look at them, study their shape and peculiarities, and remember. For us, "the older crowd", seeing these specific stamps means BAD; no ifs, buts, ors, whethers or the like. A fake is a fake, has always been and (hopefully ;)) will remain so forever. This is it, we cannot tell you any better, sorry! Now, if you happen to be an X Files fan (incidentally, I am one :D), or an adept of conspiration theories, or an Elvis sighter, or a Bigfoot hunter, or whatever else in that line, you can come up with any opinion that suits you. It's a free world, after all (or at least supposed to be, but that is another story altogether ). Fact remains that these very stamps ARE BAD. Marc |
