opinion on this one

Gents, I picked up this badge last month.
What do you think? Is it OK?
And in which kind of uniform (rank, date, branch of service) would this badge fit?

Thanks!

Esteban,

I can only answer a small part of your global question: post 1956.

This badge would not have been issued past 1969, when a new badge was introduced.

A junior officer would wear this badge. An officer would normally become eligible to attend a military academy (white badge) by the rank of major.

Branch of service would be immaterial - all military training colleges would give the same badge.

Thank you so much.
Has anybody seen this same blue enameled badge on navy uniforms?

1988 uniform regulations, p. 161, illustration 127, on the officer summer uniform

I believe this badge was used in 1961-1981, and was replaced in 1982 by the new design. In the 1988 regulations they would picture the new badge, not the old one, though it's not easy to tell from the picture.

Are you referring to the picture in the book or your badge?

My badge is the old one, with the separate gerb and star.
The one of the book is the 1982 design of superimposed gerb on red star. BTW I´d like to have that one too, looks nice :)
