Gents,

The cloth airborne insignia was authorized by Ministry of the Armed Forces of the USSR order number 52 dated August 18th, 1947. The metal airborne wings on the cloth backing were gold colored for officers and silver colored for enlisted personnel.

USSR Ministry of Defense order number 105, dated June 30th, 1955 rescinded wear for officers. Enlisted personnel wear was rescinded with order number 120, dated August 4th, 1956.
