Re: Translation Help
Tom correctly transliterated the name in your order booklet as Ivan Maksimovich Bovkunov. The prikaz extract you posted lists an Ivan Mikhailovich Bovkun, so that's probably a different guy. If the last picture you posted in the inside of the same order booklet, then this may be your guy: http://www.podvignaroda.ru/?n=32073209
His Red Banner citation doesn't seem to be in the database. Last edited by Auke; 10-05-2013 at 05:58 PM. |

Re: Translation Help
Hi Auke
Using Google Translate his name comes back as Иван Максимович Бовкун (Ivan Maksimovich Bovkunov). Nothing comes back from the database...but Иван Михайлович Бовкун (Ivan Mikhailovich Bovkun) returns the following attachment. I value your opinions.... |

Re: Translation Help
Warsaw,
The name in the booklet states Ivan Maksimovich Bovkunov. You have posted results in post 1015 for Ivan, Mikhailovich Bovkun Searhing the name in the order booklet gives the reults I posted above (the results that you said weren't there). Changing the name to something different gives the results you found. Perhaps there has been a clerical error somewhere. If in doubt order the record card.
