any opinions about this one?
The serial number tells that it would be a variation 1 but i cant see any mint marks on it...

Gentlemen,
I would like to get your opinions on the attached OGPW2 Type 2. This is an unusual (to say the least) piece which does not fit any category previously compiled for OGPW2 Type 2. It is neither "Starback", nor "Concave". Nor is it a "Ring Reverse", however it does exhibit some elements of Concave/Ring Reverse Types. Please let me know what you think. I did seek Alex F's opinion about this, and he has come up with a conclusion that this may be a duplicate order from Krasnokamsk Monetny Dvor (KMD), however this one was issued before there existed a cyrillic "Ä" on the reverse. -Eric

Hello, Gentlemen.
This came in the mail today. A Type 2, starback reverse. Very nice piece with perfect enamel and slight toning. Long, threaded post. I got this along with a few other medals which I'll post after this busy weekend. The rivets are so small I almost missed seeing them. C.E. Juncker could have taken lessons from this mint. Here are some photos::) Respects. Robert |

Hello, gentlemen.
No better time to show of my newest piece than now. As you know, it's a type 2, variation 1. On this particular piece, was the hammer/sickle riveted on or soldered? I'm presuming riveted and hidden under the backplate???? Beautiful piece in superb condition. Respects. Robert |

Well,
here's an OPW with rivets. It appears that they did exist... William |

I have T1V3 OPW 2nd class - and there's a letter "L" on the reverse, close to the centre, right next to the rivets..
For your viewing pleasure - OPW 1st class, with extremely low serial number of 194!!! Note how pin on the back was cut and screw with a plate was soldered on to comply with changed regulations. William |

Everyone,
does this belong in the Jokes section or in the SUPER RARE variation of the Monetny Dvor classified as "Uncle Vanya was drunk when he made this order" BTW it is up on eBay right now. When asked the seller for detailed scans, his reply was: Quote:

Opinions please on this one? I believe it is a Type 3 2nd class 1985 issue but the underlined serial number isn't in MacDaniels book. Thanks
