He has some medals, but too expensive. He also has military stuff from the Soviet that were in Berlin if you are interested and many DDR stuff (uniforms, medals, equipment, etc.)

Russian visa
Hi, I want to go 2 weeks in Russia this summer (Moscow, Volgograd). I have seen on a youth hostel web-page that they can sell me an invitation for visa. I also have the possibility to go to a travel agency in order to get a tourist visa.
What's the difference between being invited and having a tourist visa? Last time I was in Russia, I had an invitation from a university. I don't know what the best is for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It is likely that in order to receive the tourist visa, you need an invitation. You need an official reason (i.e. you were invited to something and/or someone) to receive the visa.

There are three types of visa's
Business- must be on business and you need to have that business invite you. Can stay up to a year. Tourist- must go through a travel agent and book a hotel, cruise ship etc Can stay for up to 30 days Invitation- private inviation from family or friends who will vouch for you and you must be staying with them. Can stay up to 90 days and then need to apply at passport control to stay longer up to a year. Some of these rule may of changed or it depends where you are coming from also. Russia does not make it easy to visit, you must registor when you arrive, usally with in 3 days at the local passport control office of the city you are staying in. You techinically can not go to another city, although most people do anyways. But if your caught and your visa does not list that city your in, prepare to pay a bribe. I have only gone by way of private invitation, this is the best, but you need friends or family there. But I here companies will do it for you?? But I have no idea how it works. Quote:

Thanks for the complete information Ron. I'll maybe go with the tourist invitation from the hotel. It is cheaper and faster I think than the one from the travel agency here.

Hello
I think with the youth hostel invitation, is they are basically doing the private invitation for you. If you are going to book hotels, the Hotel Russia beside red square is inexpensive and in the heart of Moscow. Quote:

They handled my invitation and visa last year. They have an office near me in Atlanta. Easy to deal with and good service. Be prepared to throw money at your application. LRE
