Hello all!

It was a pleasure to finally meet some of you at the show, however briefly! I was mainly in US militaria mode at the show, except for one group that Eric kindly took a photo of for me. (I was able to show my wife what I spent the price of a small car on!)

Anyway, for wheats101... Did you get one of those magazine-like programs for the show? It lists all the dealers by name and address in it. If you didn't, let me know as mine is right here.

You got that Hero group you mentioned, didn't you?

Well, good for you!

Best,

Eric

Dave,

For the rest of us, is it the HSU group that seems to include everything, including the Polyot gold watch?

I also had a great time at the SOS but, regretfully, I didn't get a chance to meet any forum members either. As I was a table helper, I was at the show the whole time. There was quite a bit of Soviet material to look at though not as much as in the past. There were a few bargains for those who moved pretty fast when the show opened on Thursday for dealer set up. I'm pretty certain that most of the bargains were snapped up by the larger Soviet dealers though I did manage to grab one excellent buy for myself. A friend of mine missed out on getting a Kutuzov 3 for $500 from a dealer who hadn't kept up on the recent price increases. I'm sure that will be his fish that got away story for a long time.

I only brought home three Soviet items but still had a good show as I also collect Japanese militaria. Those of you who went can attest to the fact there was a lot of Japanese items. In fact, I believe there was more at this show than I'd seen in one place in several years.

Hopefully, we can set up some kind of Soviet collector meeting at either OMSA or the Max later this year.

All the best,

Doug (AKA the other one)

Upcoming military show

Hi all,
There is a militaria show (including xxxxxxxx, and perhaps others), that will be held in Union, NJ (very close to those of us, who reside in tri-state area). Here are the specifics (go to Mapblast.com for directions):
Saturday, May 15, Boys & Girls Club of Union
1050 Jeanette Ave. (off Morris Ave), Union, NJ.
Opens for public at 9AM.

Hope to see some of you there...

Cheers,

- Alex.
