Ed,

I'll leave standard English to Desantnik :)

I don't see any hidden meaning in either of them. Like I said, in both cases it's bad Russian.

Ed, I've invested over 20 years of my life and personal comfort;) studying Russian and typically don't do translation for free. I offer my reasonable services at the website I PM'd you after I read that erroneous Afghan Red Star translation.

I just forwarded you the translation to the OPWII you purchased from me - the guy whose testicles were amputated. I'd be happy to do the other citation for you.

In my humble opinion, if you invest your hard-earned money in your pieces, wait 3-12+ months to receive research, and skimp on translating, in my opinion you're researching in vain and not doing justice to the person whose story you're trying to discover.

What the hell is going on here? The qoute here says that some poor sod got a bullet in his backside, got into a hospital, everything is happening in Russia in January-February, very cold (in case you are wondering), for whatever reason the guy had his testicles removed - what kind of a conspiracy theory is this? It's a typical war-time human tragedy! Haven't you seen on TV invalids (of both Eastern and Western variety) coming back from the Middle East? What are we talking about?

Can someone please translate this award card. I know the first award is Glory III 672754. I'm not sure of the rest.

Thanks

Brendan,

On the Awards card, you have:
. Glory 3rd class 672754
. Medal for Courage 3916310
. Medal for Victory over Germany

I can't read the name of the river for sure, maybe "Sventa". Sorry :(

Well Brendan, your research may have hit something bigger.

The BM is 3.9M, blowing away the highest observed s/n of 3.658M. Now all we have to do is find it...

There is a possibility the listed s/n maybe incorrect, however.
