Re: What's In The Box?
This country is now in NATO. This award pre-dates that and is from a "Transitional" period of its modern history. I wonder how long it will take to nail the award once the nation is out of the bag.

Re: What's In The Box?
I thought for sure someone had said this, but apparently not: Bulgaria.
The Order for Loyal Service Under the Banner or Order of the Balkan Mountains. Last edited by Will; 09-28-2011 at 02:16 PM. |

Re: What's In The Box?
Bingo!
Order "For Loyal Service Under The Banner" 1st Class. These things are big the cross alone is 67mm tall and 58mm wide. I also have a 2nd Class which is the same but silver which is a little crash damaged... maybe the weight of it pulled the recipient over whilst wearing it.... The 3rd and 4th classes are far more humble affairs.....

Re: What's In The Box?
Here is Air Force Colonel Petr Manolev, A Bulgarian pilot during the hostilities 41-45 on his 95th birthday. He was awarded this 2nd Class Order as a birthday present. His Soviet "For Victory Over Germany" ribbon can be seen along with his Order "For Bravery 4th Class 2nd Grade".
The second picture is a pair of newly awarded 1st Class Orders to two somewhat younger military men.

Re: What's In The Box?
Good grief, I've seen European Mayoral Collars that are smaller than that thing!

Re: What's In The Box?
Mentioned but not suggested.... I managed to string this out for a bit longer! I'll have to see what other boxes I have..... I have been thinking of an awards based game that I may deploy soon... anyone else got any boxes?

Re: What's In The Box?
The design looks pretty "Third Reich" to me.
