Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
@Marc,
The raw cut edges of the metal plate fixing the ribbon, the edges of the suspension itself, the often used simple nut made of steel or other cheap materials and a fake patina (almost black). The original suspensions always have been made (as you surely know) with almost the same effort than the orders itself. So I think they are easy to recognize. Jens |

Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
Jens,
That's more like it ;) In your original post, you were talking only about the screwplate... Marc |

Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
Hi,
I would like to have your opinion on this one. The obverse seems fine to me (consistent with the 4XX.XXX-5XX.XXX that I have). It's just that I have a mixed feeling about the SN ... and especially the "4" and the "shadow" above it. Is it just me :o or something isn't quite right ? Thanks, Patrick |

Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
Nice medal. And only a few traces of wearing and/ or polishing - A fine addition to any collection :)

Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
Gentlemen, what do you think about this one? The suspension is definitely fake so I left that one out.

Re: Fake Medals for Bravery
I think so too, but strangely enough I don't see any traces of a buffed out serial number.
