Here is Senior Lieutenant (later Major) Snezhina Hristova S'beva in 1970. A member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party until at least 2009.

As an officer in the MVD she had full access to the main restaurant under the control of State Security (DS). This isn't surprising as she was part of the "Smeshnik" (Joker) unit of the Counter-Intelligence section of the first directorate of State Security.

Unfortunately almost all information on the "Joker" cell is very classified.

Her group is the sort of thing Secret Police collectors/conspiracy theory nuts go mad for. I'll post the complete group "later". Just a shame I don't know her code name (yet!).

I won't add a name to this one but I never knew Mrs Doubtfire was based on a true Bulgarian story.

Cholponay Rakhimova (Чолпонай Рахимова) from her March 26th, 1940 Komsomol Identification Book. Born 1918, she joined the VLKSM in 1938 at the age of 20. She would have been about that age or a little older, maybe 22, in this photograph. I noticed the scarf, perhaps the red bandanna worn by members (pioneers) of this young communist organization.

You seem to be right - I think I can see flames on the clasp - like on regulation pioneer clasp.

Here is something that has not yet been seen before - a self portrait by a recipient of awards.

She travelled the world playing Tennis. The USA, Indonesia, India, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Wimbledon and beyond - and so many trips from Tbilisi to Moscow. Probably the most travelled of all recipients yet covered on the forum.

Here is Mortja Gordievka Vazhnicha in 1938. A student of the Ukrainian Library Institute. It is unknown if she survived the invasion.

Here is Svetlana Vasil'evna Mescherjakova, a BAM worker (accounting not track laying) in 1983. A rather Kirk Douglas chin (if anyone is old enough to remember Spartacus).
