iv had this red banner for a while and i was flicking through mcdaniels book and according to that book this is a type 3 variantion 4! also the lowest the serial number is 336860! have miss IDed this or has the serial number been altered? and help is great! thanks! :)

It looks like a Dove Tail variation. This was a transitional piece between the screwbacks and suspension types.

Can we see better pics of the reverse and the actual ring on the back?

I'm still looking for an example for my type set...

Nevermind.

It looks like a regular RB with an early S/N for suspended RB's. Other than the black crud I don't see anything wrong with it.

is that normal! because the type has a fairly high serial number range and this is low enough! but so long as nothing has been messed with then its all good! ;) thanks again! :)

The "black crap" looks like the remnants of lead solder used to make the order into a hack-job screwback. The owner or someone then decided later to remove it, hence the grind marks and your irremovable "crap".

Hi,

I see that some ''MASTER'' made a screwback order from this early T3V1. And later this order is restored back to how it should be. Still, nice piece!

the one other thing is that theres a nice repaire to the emamel on the front just under the top left hand corner of the flag! it was well done to! but thanks for all the info guys and im glad it was put back to how it should be! :)
