Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
And another one for discussion ! I think it is good by the way... the only features that make me suspicious are the last two entries in the order book (Red Star and Red Banner 2nd). Could be long service awards too, of course...

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
Hello friends,
how about this one (for sale these days) ? Enamel on the upper star tip is replaced (no curiosity for this variation as everybody here knows and no problem so far...), stick pin has been at least re-soldered or just faked I think and the hammer & sickle emblem ist "strangely" up to not tightened by rivets... any opinion, if the piece itself is fake or genuine !? Thank you ! |

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
I'd say:
1) avers: white enamel with a milky aspect, and not in enoigh big quanityt (it doesn't level with the medal surface), letters too thin, the red enamel color (slightly too light, genuine one is deep red blood) and maybe the branchs star engraving (you see a central axis under the enamel). 2) reverse: gold look porous, and the patina stops too franly: maybe chemical patina.

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
If I remeber right, the seller states: Piece is original but the enamel is totally redone (new).

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
Probably because the star and the "sunburst" piece came from different orders.
