Re: Unknown Afghanistan Security medal (Medal for Service in State Security)
Here is a well worn (rather than abused) example.
I have yet to find the official name of this award but I'm sure it will present itself one day.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
Here is another example. Signs of wear but mainly intact enamel (looks like another Medal rim may have knocked it).
Things are very slowly still coming out of the woodwork.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
This one is in about as good condition as can be found.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
Here is another freshly "liberated" example that has been re-enamelled with hot enamel. Whilst crudely "cooking" a good percentage of the gold wash has gone. The hot enamel is far better than the original but it wasn't worth the additional damage replacing it.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
Another one that has had a few knocks, nothing too serious.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
These are surprisingly common - and have collapsed in price.

Re: Medal "For Service In State Security".
Just returned a few weeks ago.
Prices have collapse over here, but over there, the vendors still want crazy high prices. At Bagram, I only saw three vendors selling Afghan medals/orders. Most items are in fair to poor conditions. Mostly common items. v/r Dat |

I'm getting them "over there". Good taste and forum sphere dictates I don't share all my finds but items are easily obtained.... often too easily obtained....
Here is another example.
