I think that is the case too. My problem is that I want to sell this and I know that it's probably a case of medal+book=group. But the stuff is original.... Well, it will most likely be unsold anyway as swedish collectors of soviet stuff can be counted on one hand...

Hello All,
I've misplaced the note that told me what this document was for. It is dated 1960. Thanks for the help. Tom |

I am not sure, as I haven't seen such thing before, but I think it's for medals "for irr. service in USSR armed forces".

Yes, it is the document for the Irreproachable Service medals. This one is for a 1st Class of the medal to a Lt Colonel who joined the Red Army prior to WW2.

Thanks Dave. The info allowed me to identify which group the document belongs with.

Hi Forum Members,
I would like to submit, for comments from the "eagle eyes" and experts of this Forum, several sets of Medals for Irreproachable Service I have acquired in the last years. Some have the associated document, some not. Even if I am not concerned a priori about their authenticity, I would be pleased with your comments if you experts see anything seeming wrong with them. In advance, many thanks for your comments. As it can be seen on this close-up pic, this medal is a version with rounded ends of the beams of the star. Also interesting to notice : the small "bubbles" in the enamel. Are they "normal" and part of the "making" of this type of medal ? |

I could be way off, but I highly doubt that these medals are being faked. I think the bubbles you see in the enamel are from shoddy workmanship rather than a faker's error. These later period Irreproachable service medals weren't of poor quality, but they aren't of the same quality as say, the XX Years medal.
Hope that helps. --Dave |

Many thanks for your quick comments. If you have additional ones on other medals, many thanks in advance.
I have just one question about this doc : The Med for 10 years has been awarded in 1958. Shouldn't this medal be of Type 1 and not Type 2 ? Or can we explain this by a delay between the time the medal has been awarded and the real medal given ? Or could it be a replacement at the time the awardee mounted his medals on the bar ? Moreover, can someone help me with the translation ? (Name and rank of the awardee). In advance many thanks. Many thanks for your comments on this Set 3. Cheers. Ch. |

Jussi-Pekka,
A big big thank !! The document is issued by the Ukrainian SSR. Is this document exactly corresponding to the associated medals (in particular the 25 years Medal) ? Maybe yes, maybe I am paranoid... Moreover, can someone help me with the translation ? (Name and rank of the awardee, text corresponding to the three medals...). In advance many thanks. Many thanks for your comments on this Set. Cheers. Ch. |
