Re: Excellent Worker Badges
I believe they were worn on the wearer's left, which would cause the induced "tilt" to line up with the top of the lapel on most suit cuts. I really don't know if this was the reason- pure speculation on my part. I also recently saw a Kadar Kivalo badge with a 3"+ suspension!!! Very odd, but I have seen, in other countries, that women seem to prefer the longer suspension length. Who knows?

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
Here'a a Kiváló P.F. Or (Kiváló Polgári Fegyveres Or- Excellent Civilian Armed
Guard) and it's a very rare badge from 1970's. Shown with it's miniature.

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
A nice topic on badges I like.
As a first contribution, the documented trio to Boszó Ferenc (Kiváló Müszaki Dolgozó / Excellent Engineering Work, Szahmz Kiváló Müszaki Dolgozja - Gépipar / Excellent Engineering Worker of the Trade, and Tanácsköztársasági Emlékérem, 1959 / Commemorative Medal of the Hungarian Soviet Republic, 1959) has already been shown over at http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...al-groups.html A couple more . . . -- Excelent Youth Professional [Worker] / Kiváló Ifjú Szakember -- Excelent [Scrap] Metal Collector / Kiváló Fémgyüjtö -- Excelent Worker in Agriculture / Kiváló Termelöszövetkezeti Golgozó Are we including the Sztahanaviszta Badges here too? |

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
Absolutely include Sztahanoviszta badges- I posted my "one" in post #7. Love the Metal Collector's badge, by the way.

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
Here's another type 2 (1954) badge- an Excellent Technical Worker badge.

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
Since Ed's Excellent Youth Worker also has a link or two missing on the left I know it isn't just Greg who's altering his badges.
That is perhaps the only time I have seen a recognition badge for a junkyard owner - cool - even the conveyor-belted machine is pictured (and I keep thinking of an episode of Sanford and Son where Fred won some civic award). Phillip

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
Mine are probably either "Monday" or "Friday" badges; Monday being notorious for recuperating from weekend hangovers and Friday being notorious for thoughts of the weekend ahead and wanting to get the hell out of the factory. Come to think of it, I've probably had a couple of "Monday" or "Friday" cars as well.

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
A few more excellent worker badges... these don't follow the "suspended star" design. First, an A Kisipari Szövetkezet Kiváló Dolgozója (Excellent Worker of the Craftmen's Cooperative) from 1954 badge. A couple of interesting notes to this badge; the white background is on a separate piece of the same diameter that is "sandwiched" with the top piece, adding depth and dimension. Also, the safety pin mechanism is an interesting "opposing tension" type that is nearly identical to the pin set-up on the very last types of DDR awards given prior to 1989. Quite advanced.

Re: Excellent Worker Badges
This A Szövetkezeti Ipar Kiváló Dolgozója (Excellent Worker of the Cooperative Industry) from the 1950's is a favorite due to it's bold design and broad use of colour. Though not 100% reversed due to the thickness of the material you can, nevertheless, see some of the design on the back.
