I don't have the exact date unfortunately, but the article must have appeared somewhere in November 1944. The soldier's name was Avgust-Alfred Voodla (Август-Альфред Воодла). Any help would be highly appreciated! Last edited by Auke; 07-17-2013 at 06:40 PM. |

HSLs can be researched now!
A friend of mine told me that he submitted 3 serial numbers for his Hero of Soviet Labor awards. I didn't think they could be researched. A few days ago, he called me up and said, "You are not going to believe this, but now I have 3 names attached to those medals!" He was able to get limited information on all 3 awards! He now knows the name of the recipients, the serial number of the corresponding Lenin Orders, the date of the HSL decree, the birthdate of the recipient, and where he came from! Also, the accomplishments of the recipient for which he/she received the HSL!
Now, my friend did not get any documents, just the information above. So I asked, "Well, if the researcher Auke de Vlieger in Holland, didn't provide you with copies of the actual award decree and other documents, how do you know if someone isn't making all this stuff up?" My friend responded: "Because I submitted a name of one HSL winner and I have his award booklet, Lenin, and accompanying documents! It was to test his credibility, and he got it right!" |
