Looks pretty nice now that it's cleaned up. There's a fair amount of enamel left--seems like replacing the enamel would be like throwing out the baby with the bathwater, if you will. Personally, I'd leave it alone, but that's just me.

And with a lot of character. I'm with the "don't monkey with it" crowd. A crack and a ding here doesn't bother me; it's part of the history of the piece.

Hello to all,

Alright, I will leave it be. But here something to think about, if that company that makes those really nice reproductions would have a enamel repair/replacement service, I am sure they will get lots of business.

Great job with posting the before and after photo. I didn't have enough time to do it last night.

At one time Dave or someone posted an image of a printout of ORS numbers with corresponding dates they were given.

Is there a comparable list of the ORB with serial numbers and dates?

Have you got a copy of Echos of War handy? There is a table of ORB serial numbers and award dates on page 36.
